Sydney, Australia – RunNation is thrilled to announce that the 2024 event series has officially set a new record for participation, with thousands of enthusiastic runners joining us nationwide. This year’s events, spanning Australia’s most iconic trails, brought together a vibrant community of athletes, nature lovers, and adventure seekers, solidifying RunNation as the premier destination for trail-running experiences.
A Spectacular Year for Trail Running
From the rugged beauty of Tasmania’s wilderness to the sun-drenched trails of Queensland, the 2024 RunNation series showcased some of Australia’s most stunning natural landscapes. Participants from all levels of experience—whether seasoned trail runners or those new to the sport—had the opportunity to challenge themselves, connect with nature, and build lasting memories.
The overwhelming response from the community is a testament to the growing popularity of trail running in Australia, with RunNation leading the charge in promoting an active, outdoor lifestyle.

A Showcase of Inspiring Films
As part of the 2024 RunNation event series, we are delighted to present a collection of powerful films that explore the triumphs, challenges, and spirit of endurance sports. These films, created by some of the most talented filmmakers in the industry, will inspire and captivate audiences:
- The Golden Mile by Ian Henschke: This film tells the story of the extraordinary partnership between the legendary miler Herb Elliott and his visionary coach Percy Cerutty. Featuring never-before-seen archival footage and interviews with notable figures like Lord Sebastian Coe and Ollie Hoare, The Golden Mile is a moving and historic portrayal of what it takes to succeed in life and sport.
- Footprints by David Byrne: Set against the stunning backdrop of Western Australia’s Ningaloo Coast, this documentary follows North Face athletes David Byrne and Blake Hose as they embark on a gruelling 192km journey. The film also highlights the deep connection between the Baiyungu people and their land, as shared by Traditional Owner Hazel Walgar.
- Project Impossible by William Corlett & Cameron Watt: An inspiring story of an 18-year-old Australian, William Corlett, who undertakes the monumental challenge of running 200km across Tasmania in 24 hours to raise $200,000 for Lifeline Australia. This film captures the power of youth, camaraderie, and sheer determination.
- Every Step A Story by Brad Harris: This documentary follows six ordinary people as they prepare for the Kunanyi Mountain Run in Hobart, Tasmania. The film explores their journeys and the transformative impact of trail running, highlighting the importance of community, connection, and mental health.
- The Alpine Run Project by Cut Media: Produced by Alex Harris-MacDuff and directed by Andy Ashworth, this film documents the journey of 12 young athletes from diverse backgrounds as they take on the epic alpine trail race at UTMB. Supported by John McAvoy, Nike, and JD Sports, this project aims to inspire 100,000 young people across Europe to engage in trail running.
These films will be showcased as part of the RunNation 2024 event series, offering participants and audiences an opportunity to witness the extraordinary stories of perseverance, adventure, and triumph.
